【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofparticlesizedistributionofputtinggreenandothersand-basedrootzonemixes.Particleslargerthan0.05mm(retainedonaNo.270sieve)aredeterminedbysieving.Thesiltandclaypercentagesaredeterminedbyasedimentationprocess,usingthepipetmethod.Thisprocedurewasdevelopedforputtinggreenrootzonemixes,thoseassumedtohavesandcontentsof80%byweightorgreater.ParticlesizeanalysisofsoilsmaybeperformedbythistestmethodorTestMethodD422.Thistestmethodalsodescribesaqualitativeevaluationofsandparticleshape.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
