【摘要】:Duringoperationofelectricalequipment,includingwires,resistors,andotherconductors,itispossibleforoverheatingtooccurundercertainconditionsofoperation,orwhenmalfunctionsoccur.Whenthishappens,apossibleresultisignitionoftheadjacentinsulationmaterial.Thistestmethodassessesthesusceptibilityofelectricalinsulatingmaterialstoignitionasaresultofexposuretoaglowingwire.Thistestmethoddeterminestheminimumtemperaturerequiredtoigniteamaterialbytheeffectofaglowingheatsource,underthespecifiedconditionsoftest.Thismethodissuitable,subjecttotheappropriatelimitationsofanexpectedprecisionofx00B1;15%,tocategorizematerials.5.5Inthisprocedure,thespecimensaresubjectedtooneormorespecificsetsoflaboratoryconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheend-useconditionsarechanged,itisnotalwayspossiblebyorfromthistesttopredictchangesinthefire-test-responsecharacteristicsmeasured.Therefore,theresultsarevalidonlyforthefiretestexposureconditionsdescribedinthisprocedure.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheminimumtemperaturerequiredtoigniteinsulatingmaterialsusingaglowingheatsource.Inapreliminaryfashion,thistestmethoddifferentiatesbetweenthesusceptibilitiesofdifferentmaterialswithrespecttotheirresistancetoignitionduetoanelectrically-heatedsource.1.2Thistestmethodappliestomoldedorsheetmaterialsavailableinthicknessesrangingfrom0.25to6.4mm.1.3Thistestmethodisnotvalidfordeterminingtheignitionbehaviorofcompleteelectrotechnicalequipment,sincethedesignoftheelectrotechnicalproductinfluencestheheattransferbetweenadjacentparts.1.4Thistestmethodmeasuresanddescribestheresponseormaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.(Seeforfurtherdetails.)1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection9.1.7Firetestingisinherentlyhazardous.Adequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Note18212;AlthoughthistestmethodandIEC60695-2-13differinapproachandindetail,dataobtainedusingeitheraretechnicallyequivalent.
